WELL HEY THERE BRIDGEPORT, nice club status ya got goin' for ya! I KNOW, RIGHT? I KNOW.
I'll admit, I was hesitant at first, but this group account is pretty swish. I THINK WE SHOULD CELEBRATE AND ALL DRAW OUR BRIDGEPORT CHARACTERS. C'mon you guys, it has been far too long.
A few housekeeping notes: I will be tweaking and editing the account for a while, so bear with me. Also: could everyone who has not been added to the definitive Bridgeport character list</b> PLEASE TELL ME so I can add you!

A'IGHT MONSTER BRETHREN, it looks like we're all unanimously in favour of the Bridgeport-as-club idea. I will start filling out the necessary forms to make the transition ASAP! Additionally: based on a suggestion by Shadzilla, co-founder Jenny/JeyBarnes has agreed to spearhead the "Bridgeport RP Tegaki" project! We'll keep you posted on our progress! OH MAN BRIDGEPORT, IT HAS BEEN TOO LONG.
Alright monsterlings, so here's the deal: it looks like DeviantART is offering a real genuine club/group account and it is possible for us to convert Bridgeport to a real genuine club account IF THAT IS WHAT WE WANT. Personally I am very much on the fence about it, so I am making this democratic and asking all ya'll what you think. SHOULD WE DO IT? SHOULD WE LEAVE THINGS AS IS? I want to hear your thoughts, so lemme know!

HAPPY NEW YEAR, BRIDGEPORT.
First of all, I'd like to draw your attention to Sola84, who gave us some lovely paid time as a Bridgeport Christmas gift! THANK YOU SO MUCH, MY DEAR.
Secondly! When last we spoke I asked if any of you were interested in an RP, and unanimously those of you who replied were in favour of the idea, so thanks entirely to sinkato we are now have our very own Bridgeport Roleplay Board! For those of you who are old hats at the RP business this will all be very straight forward, but for the total newbs (like me), Kato has very graciously written out instructions on getting started, and basic rules, guidelines and etiquette. It's all very straight forward and well laid out, so I'd ask you all to please make sure you give both links a read-through before getting started!
And let's all thank sinkato for doing us this favour and setting up this forum! I'M REALLY EXCITED, YOU GUYS. BRIDGEPORT 2009: NOW WITH 100% MORE RP CONTENT. Horray!

OH MY GOODNESS, BRIDGEPORT!
Ahhh I'm sorry it's been forever since I updated ya'll on the Bridgeport situation. Unfortunately our subscription ran out (thanks again for our last subscription, neekko!) so we've lost some of the fancy features like our forum and the ability to put thumbnails in journals such. I'm sorry, all! I'm plum dry on cash (due to the whole Christmas situation) otherwise I'd recharge our community myself, but we will make due!
HOWEVER The meat of this update is in regards to a question I've been getting asked a lot lately, and that is: is there a Bridgeport role play? Now as of this the moment there is not, but I've gotta tell you, the only reason there isn't is because I do not know how we'd set one up/what format to use/etc. HOWEVER, I am totally open to hearing your suggestions! WOULD YOU LIKE THERE TO BE A BRIDGEPORT RP? Let me know! I can't say I really want to be in charge of such a project, but if someone else (perhaps someone who actually knows how the whole RP deal works?) would like to spearhead this endeavour I would be more than happy to play along! LET'S HEAR WHAT YOU THINK, BRIDGEPORTIANS.

Do you feel it? HALLOWE'EN IS NEARLY NIGH. I hope all of you are preparing for some seriously rocking Hallowe'en-times. I have been dreadfully absent here due to the fact that none other than korybing/Kory B. is visiting me and we have been spending all day every day doing Hallowe'en related activities! THAT BEING SAID I've definitely failed in coordinating Bridgeport Hallowe'en times.
THAT DOESN'T MEAN YOU LOT FAILED, THOUGH. Check out the costumed submissions we've had thus far:

Well first you might want to check out an awesome call for monsters of the not-so-nice variety for toktobis's exterminator/monster hunter Tom to take a stab (HAR HAR HAR) at.

In keeping with the season (and its culmination in that most eerie of eves- Hallowe'en) we will also be hosting a Bridgeport Hallowe'en contest! Who/what is(are) your character(s) dressing up as for Hallowe'en? If they're not the costume type, then what about being generally creepy and scaring the pants out of regular folk? Draw/Illustrate/Sketch/Doodle some Hallowe'en inspired hijinks and we'll get a fav gallery up and running! I know for a fact that there will be one heck of a Hallowe'en bash going on at The Fisherman's Hook pub, owned and operated by everyone's favourite surly Northern Lights possessed eccentric, Mikhail. Who knows what other shenanigans the townsfolk are going to get up to. ELABORATE, DESIGN, DRAW AND DOODLE. Who knows, maybe there will even be prose? Prizes? LET'S SEE WHERE THIS GOES, BRIDGEPORT. SURPRISE ME.

Okay so, officially the secret santa/character exchange is over TOMORROW. That is August 11, 2008. However, I just spent 3 days trying to get home from NYC (they canceled my flight lawlz) and to be dead honest with ya'll I am not remotely on the ball. BECAUSE OF THIS I'm offering an extension for those of us (such as myself) who need it. The new deadline is August 18th, 2008! That is THIS MONDAY. Please try to get your submissions in ASAP.

Okay just so you know: I'm assuming those who are interested in the secret santa/character exchange have signed up (holler if you aren't on the list!) so STARTING TOMORROW I'm going to mix up your names and hopefully by Thursday you'll all have been informed who you are paired with, as well as I'll have written up the OFFICIAL REQUIREMENTS of the exchange (so far it's looking like partners will be kept secret, it'll be an interactive drawing AND you'll have 3 or 4 weeks to finish). 'SUP BRIDGEPORT.
Okay just so you know: I'm assuming those who are interested in the secret santa/character exchange have signed up (holler if you aren't on the list!) so STARTING TOMORROW I'm going to mix up your names and hopefully by Thursday you'll all have been informed who you are paired with, as well as I'll have written up the OFFICIAL REQUIREMENTS of the exchange (so far it's looking like partners will be kept secret, it'll be an interactive drawing AND you'll have 3 or 4 weeks to finish). IN THE MEAN TIME: check out the updates on the character list, prose, illustration AND a new ANIMATION category! Whoo monsters!

an, this ain't much of an update- it's more to tell ya'll that we're still kickin'! For a while the DA search feature wasn't picking up new images tagged with 'Bridgeport' so we had a bit of a lull, but it's working again and there are a whole SLEW of new characters to check out, as well as lots of drawings and a whole series of fantastic prose-work!

Now, what I'd like to know is who among you is interested in getting involved in a little trade/exchange? I figure if we can get a group of people who are interested together, I'll be more than happy to mix up names and pair y'off (either secretly or publicly, tell me which you'd prefer) and then your task would be to draw whoever you got paired with! IT COULD BE FUN, Y'KNOW?
Other than that, there are a few other ideas in the works- they'll be posted before long so be sure to keep your eyes on the skies! (And by skies I mean "this journal") And don't forget to KEEP SUBMITTIN' MONSTERS! I can't believe how well ya'll have taken to this little project. I AM THRILLED. <3

OLY SNAP, KIDS. The incredible BurningKake has just bought Bridgeport its own subscription! JUST LOOK AT THAT LACK OF ADDS, WILL YA. IS IT NOT BEAUTIFUL. Everybody heap thanks on her 'cause seriously this is the best present ever (THANK YOU SO MUCH).

WELL HERE WE ARE. It took us a few days but Jenny and I have managed to secure ourself a community and now it's time to really put this project into gear! We've only just begun, but we're planning to put useful references, maps, stamps, etc. in the gallery and using favs to keep track of everything ya'll have created and designed for this collab! Don't be distressed if things aren't up and humming right away, we've done our best to get as much prepared before we went "live" so that we could upload everything in one fell swoop, but these things take time to get spit and polished!
This journal will be where we update ya'll with new information (old information will be saved in another post for posterity) as well as links directing newcomers to general information, the character list, etc.

Is Bridgeport located in Canada or America?
BOTH AND/OR NEITHER. Bridgeport is a 100% fictional city, ergo it doesn't exist in either country. IN THEORY it could be located anywhere along the Washington State/British Columbian/southern Alaskan coast. PRETTY SNEAKY SIS.
How many characters can I make for Bridgeport?
As many as your heart desires! All we ask is that you go for quality, not quantity. We could all make up 50 billion Hollywood monsters that go for a dime a dozen, but the best characters are the ones that a lot of thought and design effort goes into.
